What is UX@Scale?
UX@Scale has been a pet project that has waited for a number of years – too long – to go public.
I’ve spent a lot of time over the last several years developing approaches, ideas, and coping strategies alongside clients and students who work at enterprise scale to create and grow digital experiences for a global audience.
I intend to explore ideas across a number of themes, including:
Best practices for measuring the return on investment of UX research
Whether you love this about the world, most organizations are focused on creating value. What that means depends. For many, this is purely about making money as efficiently as possible. For others, connecting people with services is a core focus area.
Just like every other operational area of an organization, we have to be able to speak about what we’re doing, how it supports and relates to other core functions, and how the resources we’re provided – and the value we drive – connect to the organizational goals.
During both down and boom times, being able to articulate this in the terms our colleagues use is of critical importance. I’ll share some of the wins – and mistakes – I’ve seen and experienced.
Inclusive Research
Building an equitable and inclusive world is important to me on a personal level. Thinking – and more importantly doing -meaningful work around expanding access to information, products, services, and opportunities means trying some new strategies. As a world, we have some work to do to ensure that the broad diversity of human experience is represented and supported.
How to execute on UX research at scale
There are many ways to ensure that the right people have access to the right insights and data at the right time. How we get there differs depending on the comfort level of the organization around enabling people to gather data, the capacity of researchers, the culture, and the willingness to focus on connecting the goals of people and the organization. I’ve seen some incredible examples of how create and grow the practice of UX research.
As time goes on, I’m sure that there will be more. But, I want to focus on the bright spots – great examples of things gone right.
I’m looking forward to having you join me.
